For this, we are using an article distribution service that will not only post articles to your blogs if you wish, it will also send you those articles by email. You simply select the topics you want and tell them how many articles per day you want.

Since you are rewriting them to some extent, you’ll probably want to choose the formatting option called “Free-flow TEXT”.

By selecting a category, you get all the subtopics as well.

By selecting a subtopic (such as Wealth Building) rather than the more broad topic (in this case, Finance) you get fewer articles – but more targeted content.

GETTING SPECIFIC

If you want very specific topics, scroll down and use the blank panel at the right to type in your keyphrases. But be aware that, the narrower you get, the fewer articles you will receive. Obvious, really, but worth mentioning.

DOWNSIDE

Another cautionary note (so you dont complain to me later, okay?) is that the article writer submits his/her articles into whatever categories they like. Some categories seem to attract more irrelevant entries than others. For example, in Blogging or Internet Business I’ve had a lot of totally off-topic stuff come through. The simple solution is to just delete them from your inbox. Dont waste too much time or energy mouthing off about it ‘coz that isnt very productive.

OVERALL

It’s a nice free service that saves you having to go and research yourself at EzineArticles.com or whatever your favorite articles directory is. For unique content, rewrite the ideas and facts into your own words, at least to some extent. Combine two or three articles into one.

To see if your machine is infected, go to

It’s an extremely simple test. Load the page and see if you get all 6 pictures. If you do, you’re unlikely to be infected. The explanation is VERY short, and included on the page.

Feel free to pass that URL around to anyone you like. The more people know if their systems are infected, the better.

If you find that you’re are likely to have the worm on your machine, immediately disconnect from the Internet. Find a machine that isn’t infected, and get a copy of Microsoft’s Malicious Software Removal Tool.

We have all seen the standard “Wordpress SEO” articles that discuss the obvious things that you can do to optimize your Wordpress blog. Most focus on optimizing titles, permalinks, meta keyword and description tags, and possibly adding a Google sitemap.

But what about the fact that much of your content appears on several different pages in your Wordpress blog?

With one exception.

Once you’ve set up an account for one domain, you cant add any other site from the same IP address. If you have 10 sites at the same IP address, you can open one Dirlinks account and link to all 10 sites. (I think.)

So my advice is just add one site and check to see if it’s accepted – rather than set up all ten and find that one or more of them is not accepted. But which one? Easiest way to find out is to add ‘em one at a time.

UPDATE:

Make that two exceptions.

I’m hoping Jonathan Leger will read this. Firstly, thanks Jonathan for the service – and the price is very nice.

But there is another annoying feature that you may not be aware of.

Once the user (me in this case) thinks his/her site is set up correctly including the link from the home page to the new folder for the dirlinks pages, then he clicks the button to have Dirlinks verify the setup. BUT if for some reason dirlinks doesnt find the link on your home page, it gives you a red alert message.

Trouble is… the link WAS visible on my home page as I view the internet from here in Australia. Just in case Australian internet was updated faster than Jonathan’s server, I used the proxy service at hidemyprivacy.com to view my site as if I was in America — yep, the link from my home page to the dirlinks directory was even visible in the US.

So once again I clicked the “Verify and submit your site” button.

And once again, I get the error message:

“Your form submission contained the following errors:

1. A link from your site’s home page to the directory folder (/dirlinx/) was not found.

Please click the BACK button of your browser and correct these errors before continuing.”

Well, I did that a half a dozen times. Still the same… going nowhere.

Next I had the bright idea of changing the name of the dirlinks folder. Did that at my site. Made the change at the dirlinks site. Uploaded the 2 new files that dirlinks generated. Changed the link on my home page. Double checked that the new link was visible at my site. Then clicked the verify button… and got the same red error message.

Conclusion – I’m stuck.

So I looked for the Contact link to ask somebody back at base to take a look at this. Nope, there is NO contact link. Hmmm.

My next bright idea is to share my misfortunes with my readers – and hope that some kind reader will alert JL to this.

Final bright idea is to search Google for how to contact JL… and I found http://www.askjonleger.com where I can submit a support ticket… which is what I will do as soon as this update is published.

Now dont let all the above put you off Dirlinks.net because you probably wont have this problem. I was trying to do something a little different on that page.

One easy way to do this is to use http://www.freeprivacypolicy.com and then add a paragraph titled ‘Interest based advertising’ where you share the above information from Google about the Dart cookie.

The only snag is… if you’ve got 10 or 20 sites that run Google ads, you’ve got a bit of updating work to do. But that’s better than risking Google dropping you from their database… because that’s what happens when they find you outside of their policies. You not only lose any ad revenue from that particular site, but the offending site also disappears from Google search results AND you risk losing your account with Google – in which case I assume that all your sites would disappear from the Google search results. Ouch.

My advice: Dont risk it. Update your privacy policy before April 8th.
