Ebooks FAQ -- Page 2
File
formats: what software is needed to read .exe
files and PDFs?
Many of our ebooks (especially
the exclusive
ebooks) are PDF (Portable Document Format)
files, which means they can be read on any
computer, including Macs. Some are .exe (executable)
files which means they're only for IBM compatibles
(which is most computers) and can be read
with no additional software needed.
Free:
can I build an income for free? I dont have
a website yet.
There isnt any simple answer
to this question. But if you are diligently
learning and applying sound internet marketing
principles and spending time at it almost
every day, you will surely be able to build
an income. It may take longer than you wish,
but it can happen.
And yes, you can build an income
without much in the way of expenses: - but
it will take longer. In eProfitNews
ezine, I share all sorts of freebies that
help people do what I've done in building
my list without cost (and slowly). Now that
I've learned a lot and started to generate
some income, I'm able to move ahead faster
by spending some money.
One practical way to start your income even
when you have no website is
to load a series of articles into a free autoresponder,
then submit free classified ads for that autoresponder
message series. GetResponse.com provides a
good free autoresponder with just one of their
ads at the top each time.
So what about those articles?
You could write them yourself after reading
what others have said about a topic. Some
sites also provide their own pre-written promotional
series that you could use. Keep your eyes
open as you read the ezines you get. (Not
sure what ezines are worth reading? Click
on the ezines link to your right here.)
The BIG KEY to whatever articles
you run is that they must include a promotion
for an affiliate product that will pay you
when your work generates sales. eBookWholesaler.com
and FreeToSell.com
are two such products. Have you joined their
free affiliate programs yet? Many other sites
also have free affiliate programs you can
promote.
FreeToSell:
do I get the FTS package when I join eBookWholesaler?
(See also Difference
between FTS and eBW)
No, you dont get the whole FreeToSell
pack. When you join eBW, there's a Start
Pack that includes the top ten sellers
from the FreeToSell pack which you can also
brand with your own website and affiliate
details.
FreeToSell:
should I start with FTS?
There are 2 ways to profit from
the FreeToSell package of resellable ebooks
and ready-to-sell websites. One of them will
suit your situation better. You can either
buy it (and retain all the revenue from all
sales) or promote it as an affiliate (earning
50% but you pay us nothing).
FreeToSell:
what does it cost to promote FTS?
There is no charge to act as
an affiliate promoting the FreeToSell package.
You get the 50% affiliate commissions on all
sales. Your affiliate link (using ClickBank
as the payment processor) will be http://Skykey.XXXXXX.hop.clickbank.net.
But you need to replace the XXXXXX with your
own ClickBank identifier (which you can get
through a link at the FreeToSell affiliate
signup page).
By the way, you can use Skykey
or skykey, because our server is not case
sensitive. You can confirm this by clicking
on both links and beginning (but not completing!)
the purchase process. Look for your ClickBank
ID in the link at the bottom of the ClickBank
pre-payment screen: this means you and Tom
share the commission on those sales.
FreeToSell
branding: do I get to brand each book in the
pack?
You get to brand the Ultimate
Ebook Package as a whole but sorry, not each
individual ebook (there's a lot of them!).
You can personalize it with your name, your
own web site link and your Affiliate IDs to
many other quality programs. You can do this
at no cost.
And yes, even the links going
back to our site will generate you commission
when people buy (as long as you insert your
own affiliate link, of course... and it's
quite clear where you need to type that).
FTP:
what's that? and where can I get it?
FTP (file transfer protocol)
software is what you can use to transfer files
between computers over the Internet. It’s
not exactly for beginners, which is why we
provide another way to copy all the files
you need from out computers to your home computer.
And many webhosts will also provide you with
other ways to upload your ebooks and web pages
to your website. But when you’re ready to
go to the next step (and it’s not that hard!),
you can get a good FTP program here
for free.
Hosting:
where can I get good cheap hosting?
Your website will need to live
somewhere, of course. And hosting can cost
anything from a few dollars a month upwards.
Generally you get more services as you pay
more but some are higher-priced because they
include revenue to pay valuable commissions
to affiliates. If you're on a limited budget,
the cheaper hosts are a good place to start.
(You can even start with free web hosting,
but you face some challenges by going that
way... however there are ways to minimise
the difficulties.)
Beginners, please note:
If you’re just starting out, you’ll almost
certainly have a lot of questions while you’re
getting your site and your business up and
running. This is where you NEED a web host
who will answer your emails. Here's my list
of recommended
web hosts and why I recommend them.
How
long will it take me to get set up?
Say, this is a difficult question.
Probably the simple answer is: it depends
on how fast you learn. But that's not much
help, is it?
There is a variety of online
marketing skills to become aware of
and then to learn, like:
* how to download from our server to your
computer: that's easy but put it in a findable
place on your hard disk. Maybe make a new
folder for your online business adventures,
with various subfolders inside.
* how to upload the websites (which we supply)
from your computer to your webhost's computer,
using FTP. FTP Explorer is free and easy enough
to learn. (See also FTP.)
* how/where to advertise and promote. As well
as helping Tom with email support, I also
publish eProfitNews ezine and run several
websites. Here’s a list I’ve collected of
where you can get cheap ezine ads if you choose
to go that way.
The eBookWholesaler Members
Area has detailed step by step instructions
on a whole stack of things like this... designed
for the beginner, you'll be pleased to hear.
Keywords tools:
where can I get some?
To get good search engine listings,
you need keyword-rich content pages as well
as meta tags that accurately reflect that
content. Here's my collection of keyword tools
which you can even use to help you come up
with a domain name for your next website!
The "realtime top keywords" lists will give
you today’s hot search terms: maybe these
will help you choose a name for your website.
And use Overture’s "search term suggestion"
tool: you put in the terms you think people
might use to search for your products/services
and this tool gives you alternatives. The
"webpage analyser" may also help you see your
pages as the search engine spiders do.
Late:
am I too late to make any money with ebooks?
I think the best way to answer
your question is to use Tom Hua's story as
a case study in getting going from scratch.
As he tells in a recent exclusive ebook (eBookPOWER,
which is 'how I did it' by Tom), his income
from online marketing was virtually zero about
3 years ago. Now he’s making a very solid
6 figure income and it's continuing to experience
strong growth. You will get eBookPOWER as
part of your membership package when you join
eBookWholesaler or you can buy it separately
here.
There are plenty of others too.
Their stories are published in various ezines
from time to time. (Here's my list of recommended
ezines. You can learn a lot from these publishers.)s
So no, you're not too late.
One reason you're not too late
is that multiple thousands come online every
day. New people. Many of them want to know
how to make money online. They could be seeing
your ads...
Learning:
it’s so important...
The Internet is a rapidly changing
world, so we all need to keep learning. Here
are 2 ways to do that.
1, Read widely among the better
internet
marketing ezines and websites.
2, One of the best ways is to
use the Internet. For example, go to Ask.com
and type in your question using ordinary English.
For example, type in "what is pdf". At the
top of the answers page, you’ll see some sponsored
(ie, paid-for) links then there are the information
links that will help answer your questions.
Links:
whose links are inside the eBW books?
On the front page of each of
the new style PDF ebooks (that we're now releasing
as exclusive ebooks), there are about half
a dozen affiliate links that you can personalise
with any program you are promoting: inserting
your links. Those include your www.eBookWholesaler.com
link (so you get a monthly referral commission
on any who join through you), any internet
marketing site you like, any affiliate site
you're promoting, your ClickBank link... all
designed to build back-end income for our
resellers.
Note: You wont find us competing against you.
We only supply to our members. We dont sell
to the general public.
Inside the various ebooks, the
authors will usually also mention other works
of theirs, yes. But I dont recall having seen
any of our ebooks that are just one long catalogue
of selling links from the author. You'll find
that style of ebook all over the web, but
that isnt what we're about. Tom set the policy
of releasing only quality content.
Mailing
list: how do I build my list?
One of your most important
priorities is building the size of your list.
As they say, "the money is in the list". To
build your list, you need to give people a
good reason to join you. Here then are a few
ways to build your list:
* Offer our ebooks as valuable freebies when
they join. You cant give away eBookWholesaler
exclusive ebooks but you can give away any
of the other ebooks in the membership package.
* Worthwhile ezine content. People will cancel
if your ezine is little more than ads and
self-promotion, so give them valuable content.
One free source of a continuing stream of
articles is Article
Announce.
* Write helpful articles (perhaps
based on what you read from others, if you're
new and a bit short of online marketing experience)
and submit them. Where to? LyonsInternational.com
is one new article library: they add your
article to their database and also include
it in their daily mailouts to all members.
You'll find other articles databases you can
join via Google. Getting
your articles published. This directory
of ezine publishers will help you contact
other publishers in your field.
* Join free subscriber-generating services
such SubscriptionRocket,
ListInferno,
OptinStorm.
* Aggressive ad placement. You can swaps ads
with other ezine publishers.
* You can also buy
cheap ads in other ezines. It’s surprisingly
cheap, and is often described as the best
promotional bargain on the Internet. Solo
ads cost more but they work best because the
reader sees only your ad. And if your ad is
any good, response rates will rise. A word
to the wise: test the effectiveness of your
ads by using the various free advertising
opportunities before you pay for any major
promotions.
* Another way is to post to
the various forums.
Either ask quesstions or post your comments
in response to other posts. Remember not to
try to sell when you post: that's not allowed.
But you can include a small promotion in your
sig (signature) so check what's allowed at
the forum bylooking at other people's sigs
before you create yours. Anyway you can always
change your sig later. The aim of your sig
is to get people to come to your site where
you hope to get them to join your mailing
list... because most sales are not made on
the first few contacts.
* If you write to ezine publishers,
some will be helpful to newcomers. Hey, we
all started with an empty mailing list. Maybe
they'll mention your new website in their
ezine, so write a good benefits-loaded proposal
to them. Before you write, make sure you're
getting their ezine. What I do is hit Reply
when I get their ezine: - this way the subject
line includes their latest issue. That's more
likely to get their attention.
