Accepting
payments: how does it work?
The way we recommend
our resellers handle payments is to use the
trusted independent payment processing firm
called ClickBank.com. We have full details
of how to set up your site to accept credit
cards through ClickBank inside the Members
Area at eBookWholesaler.com. You can join
ClickBank now.
ClickBank charges a one-time
$49 to join as a vendor, plus a small fee
($1 plus 7.5%) on each sale. It's good value
in view of the fact that you dont have to
even think about managing the payment side
of your ebusiness. Thousands of internet vendors
use them. And yes, they do accept online checks
now too.
Once you set up with ClickBank
(or any payment processor you choose), they'll
send you payment checks twice a month. In
other words, eBookWholesaler.com is not involved
in that area. Our commitment is to supply
our members with 1-2 resellable ebook+website
packages each month.
I should point out that,
as good as ClickBank is, it is not completely
secure. (In fact, no system is... just as
no house or building is completely secure.
A determined thief can always find a way.)
Until recently, people who knew what to do
could divert the affiliate commissions to
themselves. But ClickBank has added persistent
cookies so that the chance of this happening
now seems to be very small indeed. ClickBank
is to be congratulated.
PayPal.com is an alternative
very popular payment processor but it is also
not secure (unless you install their IPN option).
Paypal, however, is free to join and has lower
transaction fees.
Is there a solution? You
could look at other payment
processors or anti-theft
solutions. Or the next item...

do you provide them?
We provide ready-to-use
ads, both classified ad length and longer.
They're all on display right next to the download
links for each individual ebook, inside the
Members Area.
Affiliate

I can start to earn affiliate income?
Just click on the "Make Money!"
button on this page which is inside the Members
Area:
http://ebookwholesaler.net/members/rssignup.html
Your affiliate link will look like mine ("epn"
is my chosen identifier... short for eprofitnews):
http://www.ebookwholesaler.net/r/g.php?u=epn&t=exclusive.html
You can remove the last part
[ &t=exclusive.html ] if you wish. It's
all explained in the Members Area.
If you wanted to join eBookWholesaler.com
through my affiliate link ( as a way of saying
thanks for these FAQ pages), that's the one
to click on. It wont cost you a cent more
but it will help me (thanks!).
Age:
am I too young / old to do this?
You'll be pleased to know
that age is no barrier to success in building
an online business. In fact, on the internet
nobody knows how old you are unless you either
tell them or indicate in some other way. And
whatever age somebody is when they start,
we all have to learn the same important skills.
It's great that you are keen to learn.
Autoresponders:
do you supply them?
Yes, eBookWholesaler does
provide a basic autoresponder.
Beginners
help: how much help will I get as a beginner?
Inside the Members Area
of eBookWholesaler.com, we have a lot of resources
for beginners. Covering everything from how
to download the ebook+website packages from
our servers, how to unzip them if they are
zipped (zipping is compacting a file so it
travels faster - there is a free unzip program),
then how to upload it all from your computer
to your webhost's server. We also cover how
to accept credit cards with detailed notes
on setting up with ClickBank though you can
use other payment processors if you wish.
And heaps more how-to information.
There's a page called stepbystep.html
that's inside the members area. It takes you (surprise!)
step by step through how to do every little
thing you need to do:
- How to upload the sites we supply to the
server that you plan to put the websites on
- How to set up to accept credit card payments
through Clickbank,
- Etc, etc...
We dont actually make the sales for you, okay,
but we do supply short ads and longer ads
that you can use. For example, just paste
them into your ezine.
Hopefully you're building
a mailing list, or getting ready to. Holler
if you need help on that. Or anything else.
Yes, we have backend sales
built into the ebooks: one way is the new
PDF (portable document format) versions of
our ebooks. This is a world first because
it allows you to insert about 5 of your affiliate
links right into the PDF files (it's all done
by our software, you just type and click:
and hey presto, it's ready for you to download
to your computer: and later you upload the
lot to your server).
Classified
Ad Secrets: can I give it away?
This book is relatively
old so the author Tom Hua has allowed our
resellers to give it away if they choose to.
Not many people are still selling it (even
the 2002 version) for the face value of $24.95.
Tom’s advice would be to use it as a bonus
or sell it at a lower price.
Difference
between FTS and eBW: which is better?
eBookWholesaler.com is
a membership site where we provide our members
with 1-2 new exclusive ebooks every month.
FreeToSell.com, also owned by Tom Hua, provides
a single huge ebook. All of these ebooks are
of course resellable. That's a brief overview.
Now in a bit more detail...
To join eBookWholesaler (eBW), there is a
monthly $27 fee ($47 in the first month only).
In return for this you'll get immediate access
to our entire inventory which is currently
(August 2002) 33 resellable personalisable
exclusive ebooks (with websites ready to upload
to your webhost’s server) plus 3 bonus ebooks
(which sell at the authors’ sites for $98.90)
plus 10 more resellable personalisable FreeToSell
ebooks in the Start Pack. Full
details here. Just follow the links to
Start Pack, Exclusive and Bonus.
And each month we add
1-2 more resellable ebooks and ready-to-upload
websites, valued at $27 or more. You can cancel
your automated payment anytime you wish. Many
who cancel come back later because eBW does
represent good value. There is no contract.
So as soon as you join,
there is a long list of ebooks and websites
that you can download and start selling. On
all these sales, you keep 100% of the income.
So just one sale will often cover the whole
monthly fee for eBW. All your sales after
that are profit.
Good deal? Yes, it *is*
a good deal, all for $27 month with no contract.
So which is better? Tom says "We believe
that it is better to sell individual Quality
ebooks than a big package".
Differentiating
your business: why should anyone buy from me
when others are selling your products too?
Differentiating your ebiz
from others will give you a definite edge
from those who simply copy and paste. How
to be differentiated?
- Add something that
others cant or dont. Maybe you add other
products as bonuses ('Buy 1, get 1 free').
- Maybe you add your
experience... come to think of it, much
of what differentiates the experts is that
they share what they've learned in the past
and in their current marketing projects.
- If you can find a niche
to occupy, so much the better. In fact,
niche
marketing is the subject of my first
ebook. If you visit the niche marketing
site, it may help stimulate some ideas about
how you can distinguish your approach.
- Add your own value
by way of a researched report you either
write or find from another writer. But what
if it's copyright-protected? If it's worthwhile
info that will add value to your offer,
just include the copyright statements and
the author's resource box and you're generally
okay. However if it's not clearly stated
as reprintable it's always wise to email
the author. I got a big surprise once when
a publisher wrote back and said certainly
I could reprint her article... for $100!
Digital:
what does that mean?
It's just techno-speak,
and it simply means that these ebooks are
not sent physically but instead they are sent
via the internet as a string of electrical
impulses. Digital is just another word for
the 'raw material' of all the messages that
we send over the Internet. If email, for example,
had first been typed out on paper and then
faxed to you, we'd call the paper version
a 'hard copy'. But ebooks (electronic books)
were never in hard copy form - they've only
ever existed as electrical impulses displayed
on computer screens. And the Internet (the
Web) uses phone lines to send those electrical
impulses. The receiving computer 'knows how'
to reassemble them into the pages you read
on your screen, or in this case into the email
you received.
All our products are digital. You download
the ebook from our computer to your computer.
Many are in PDF format. The rest are .exe
files (stands for executable, meaning that
your computer “executes” a set of instructions
which allows it to display the ebook on your
monitor). Many of the .exe files are in zipped
format for faster transfer to your computer.
No hard copy at all.
It'd be worth your time
to learn a little more of the basics behind
Web communication. Ask.com is a great place
to simply type in your question and get a
variety of sites that have answers for you.
Type in 'what is digital' or similar.
Domain:
what’s a domain? and how do I get one?
A domain is just the name
of a website. It's like my name is Gary Harvey
and your name is _______. The name of this
website is eProfitNews.org and one of Tom
Hua's domain names is eBookWholesaler.com.
Now when you want to start
your own website to sell ebooks, here's
what you do... step by step:
BRAINSTORM FOR WEBSITE
NAMES
Think up a few names you like for your first
site. The more the merrier.
Another way to go is to buy an expired domain
name from DomainsBot.
Or Expired
Traffic which will also deliver varying
levels of free (targeted!) traffic.
When you're figuring out your new domain name,
my strong advice is:
Select a name that contains searchable key
words. Words that have meaning to your target
market. One of the first things your prospective
customers will know about your site is its
name. Dont lose 'em at that point! Here's
a pile of keyword
resources - some of them can help you
with this.
CHECK WHICH NAMES ARE AVAILABLE
Go to any domain name registrar (4 of the
cheapest are listed in the next point) to
see if anyone else already has registered
a website by the same name/s. The whole process
is automated, so there's no need to pay the
more expensive prices that some registrars
are charging... a domain name is the same,
whoever you buy it from!
REGISTER THE BEST NAME
If your favourite name is available, you register
it with Stoco.net .. even cheaper than Godaddy.
NEXT YOU'LL NEED HOSTING
FOR YOUR WEBSITE
By now, you own the name. But your website
doesnt yet exist. So now you need to find
a web hosting company who will rent you some
space on a server (a computer): your website
will "live" on this server. Here are my recommendations
for your web
hosting.
Once you've signed up
for your web hosting, you'll be able to...
DOWNLOAD OUR READY-MADE WEBSITES
Download one of the websites from the eBookWholesaler
computer to your computer.
PERSONALISE YOUR LINKS
You'll easily enough see which links you need
to change in the website you just downloaded.
Just change "YourWebsite.com" into your website's
URL. And change the blank payment links, which
leads me to mention...
LET CLICKBANK HANDLE THE PAYMENTS
The best (easiest) way to handle the selling
of ebooks is to use the services of ClickBank.
They will accept credit card payments for
you, then they mail checks out every 2 weeks
to resellers to cover the sales they've made,
or you can ask for bigger checks less frequently.
Here's the link to join
ClickBank as a vendor.
After you've joined ClickBank as a vendor,
you'll also need to change the blank payment
links on our sites into the one you've chosen
and set up at the ClickBank site. This way
you get paid!
THEN UPLOAD THE WEBSITE TO YOUR WEBHOST'S
SERVER
Uploading just means copying a computer file
(such as an ebook or a web page) from your
computer up to your host's computer, using
free FTP software.
You'll probably want to create a new folder
(also called a new directory). I like to give
my ebook folders the same names as the ebooks
that live there. It just makes my life easier
and it's also easier for your customers to
read your URLs. Either way, its important
to put all the files in the same directory
because the linking in the HTML code is set
up to work that way.
NEXT YOU ADVERTISE... THEY BUY... YOU GET
PAID
You advertise the address (or URL, = uniform
resource locator) of your website or webpage.
When people buy, they pay ClickBank and are
then automatically redirected to your download
page (the URL where they can download the
ebook from your host computer).
And that's how you set up your online sales
machine. Make sense?
eBay:
can I sell the exclusive ebooks at the auction
sites?
No, sorry. It’s one of
the rules we established with the help of
our members.
