Comments on the new ClickBank User Agreement
By eProfitNews.org | March 18th, 2009ClickBank has revised their User Agreement. I’ve just skimmed through the rather long document (which you will see when you next login to your CB account).
When there is a revision like this, the obvious question is… What’s changed?
They don’t say.
But two sections jumped out at me (not sure if these are new or if I just noticed them):
4. SENDING EMAILS.
You shall not directly or indirectly:
3. Employ any false or deceptive information regarding Your identity, or regarding the intent, subject, or origin of the message or fail to include accurate information regarding Your identity, and the intent, subject, and origin of the Email.
I wonder what impact this will have on folks who promote using pseudonyms. False names, it seems, have become a problem here.
What’s your view? – please comment below.
Maybe, instead of signing off as Bill Brown unless that’s your real name, you just sign off your emails as www.MyDomain.com

Under section 6, I notice…
Promotional use of images or reproductions of Payment checks issued by ClickBank without the express, written consent of ClickBank is prohibited.
***
Hope my comments help in some way, but you should not rely on them. I’m not a lawyer (and wouldn’t want to be one — I’ve heard that lawyers as a group have a higher than average rate of being clinically diagnosed as suffering from depression).

“I wonder what impact this will have on folks who promote using pseudonyms. False names, it seems, have become a problem here.”
I think this has been a problem for along time accross a lot of affiliate networks.
There are many ways to exploit this, none of which I will mention here. Bottom line is, you should be transparent about where you are emailing from and who you are emailing and why.

I think it is intended to reduce potential liability to them, since they are indirectly making a profit and liable under spamming laws.

Same with Bob, I am also totally new with WAMU. Where can we find about it? Would it be nice if you can post a topic about it? thanks!

This seems to be mostly about spam liability. If the autorities can’t find who’s behind a certain spammer’s curtain, guess who they turn to: CB. I’d say its an understandable move on their part.

Kathy I guess you are right they are trying to reduce liability. comment is acting here as a sign. by signing the document users are agree and liable for their action.

It could be that there have been a few scams going on and Citibank are trying to close any loop holes the scammers are using.

have you guys heard? mw2 is getting a map pack!! I wonder if they’ll ever expand on spec ops. Seems like it would be popular. The only reason I ever bought the map packs for any Cod was Nazi Zombies, if it’s just more MP ones i dont think ill go for it. Too bad it will be delayed for ps3 users
