Organizational Strategies – Are You Losing Money Without Them?

By now you already know internet marketing is similar to other businesses in form and function. It takes time and work to make money–whether you are making it online or off. While many people choose internet marketing because of the freedom it offers them, the truth is that you need to organize your IM business before you can hope to truly make money.

It’s really simple, having organization will give you even more time and freedom to build your business through marketing efforts or networking with others. Ok, so this is what you want – read on to learn how to get more organized and have more time and fun to expand or just be a little bit smoother.

When you research and plan your business, you will see a lot of tools and software apps that you think you ‘gotta have.’ You’ll soon see some resources/tool, for example Quicken S/W, that are just ordinary tools you can use. However, you’ll come across some neat tools like keyword researching tools. You really don’t need those right out of the gate.

So what you’ll do is create folders for the different programs and tools that interest you. Setup and organize your folders, for example: article spinning s/w, accountant software, emailing software, keyword research tools, etc. Now, all you do is just save them or download them to your folders, then when you have time you can read or try them. Keep a list of the things you have already rejected (and why) so that you don’t accidentally download something you’ve already tried and rejected.

Keeping organized lists will be a tremendous help, too. If you have, or promote, more than one product, and you do email marketing, then you’ll have more than one email list. You don’t want to get your lists mixed up or you could accidentally offend someone and cause them to find someone else to buy from! But you’ll find any good email program will have functions that help keep this easy. Mozilla Thunderbird will allow you to organize folders for multiple email addresses and lists.

Make a doable schedule for each day and week. It’s best to plan in larger blocks of time because you have a better chance of getting your work done. Your schedule can be as simple as: mornings = marketing work, afternoons = project work. This practice will help develop a habit of doing work while ignoring any distractions. There’s an excellent chance you’ll get nothing done without some kind of plan or idea of what needs to be done.

As you organize your online business, don’t worry about over-planning everything to extreme detail. It’s as easy as making a filing system and a daily To Do list. But many marketers have noticed that the more they get organized, the more money they make. Organizing your business saves time and keeps you focused.
